Every territory has a vault buried underground, and mine is no exception. Every visitor leaves something behind down here, like footprints.

Every lord owes their visitors an honest account of what data their territory handles about them. Any lord who doesn't is either ignorant or up to no good.

Browsing this site

This site doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't run Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics or tracking service.

Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's own localStorage. It never gets sent to me.

MathJax handles math typesetting. It's loaded from jsdelivr, a public CDN. Like any resource hosted elsewhere, jsdelivr can see that request, including your IP. That's out of my control for now. I'll get around to fixing it.

This domain points straight at the server, with no Cloudflare-style proxy or CDN in front of it.

As currently configured, the server doesn't keep access logs either. So under normal browsing, you won't leave an IP record behind.

Webmention

If someone mentions a post on their own public website or Fediverse account, the Webmention shows up underneath it automatically: author name, avatar, link. That's content they chose to publish publicly themselves.

Email comments

If you email a comment to a post:

  • I receive and store your name, email address, and the body of your message. Only your name and message are shown publicly under the post. Your email address is never made public.
  • A first-time comment goes into a moderation queue. It only goes public once I approve it, or if you've commented before and this email passes SPF/DKIM checks for the sending domain.
  • Comments I reject are deleted immediately.
  • Whether it's sitting in the queue or already public, that name-and-email record has no automatic expiration right now. It stays around. If you want it gone, email me and tell me which comment.
  • If someone replies to your comment, I'll send a notification to the email address you left. It includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you won't hear from that thread again.

Contact

If you have questions about this, or want to see or delete your data, reach me through the ways listed on the contact page.

This page will get updated as the blog's own architecture changes. It's a plain account of what this territory does, not a legal document.
